As per our rule book, Qualification for membership is subject to restrictions under our ‘Common Bond’. Currently admission to membership is restricted to individuals who reside or are employed in the locality of Birmingham (B Postcode) or the county of Warwickshire.

Checking your balances and making withdrawals has never been easier. We have several methods available for you to use, including a free text to the mobile we hold on file for you. Simply text the word ‘savings’ to 80800 to retrieve a live balance directly to your phone.

Receive an annual dividend paid to all our members

A dividend shall be declared on all fully paid savings held during the preceding financial year or interim period. Savings held for less than the full year shall be entitled to a proportional part of the dividend. A dividend on members’ savings may be recommended by the Board of Directors for declaration at the Annual General Meeting.

How can I withdraw my savings?

Bank transfer to a nominated account: This transfer is free of charge and takes 2 working days (if you require the money more urgently we can arrange a same day payment – Charges may apply) Automatic transfer of funds onto a prepaid Visa Debit card – ask a member of staff for details.

Are my savings secure?

Savings with Citysave are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is a scheme provided by the UK Government. It gives a level of cover for your money if anything happens to your bank, building society or credit union.

In respect of deposits, an eligible depositor is entitled to claim up to £85,000. The £85,000 limit relates to the combined amount in all the eligible depositor’s accounts with the credit union, and not to each separate account.

How do I save?

There are two ways you can save. The easiest way is via a deduction from your pay. Citysave will take your instructions and inform your Employer (subject to your Employer being a Citysave partner).

Alternatively, you can set-up a standing order from your bank. Please quote your National insurance number in the payment reference field.

How do I get my money out?

Withdrawals can be made direct to your UK bank account/building society.

Withdrawals to your bank take 2 working days and are free of charge. We do offer a same day faster payment service in case of emergencies but this attracts a fee.

Alternatively, we can credit a prepaid Visa “Engage” debit card on the same day you request withdrawal free of charge.

How can I check my balance?

Text the word ‘Savings’ to 80800 and we will text your balance to your mobile phone instantly.

Can I have savings pots for different purposes?

Yes – you can ask us to set up accounts for a range of things including Holidays, Junior savers or even Christmas.

How much can I save and how safe are my savings with Citysave?

There is no cap on savings but all deposits are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £85,000
