NEW LOANS LAUNCHED

2 new loans have been launced for members following feedback and member suggestions.

The Rainy Day loan is an emergency loan of up to £300 over maximum of 24 months for member who have personal loans and saving plans with Citysave.

It can be repaid at any time, and reborrowed over the 24 months. We hope it has the flexibility for the emergencies that occur from time to time, and will also cover the regular requests we have for additional Christmas loans.

The Payroll Handiloan offers a discount to new members who are on Payroll Deduction, and applying for the Handiloan. We hope it will encourage new members to join us from the companies that we do payroll deduction for.

EGM

We have set an EGM for 29th July at 5.15pm at Citysave office in Waterloo Street.

Agenda Item is to revisit the tender for the audit, and appoint auditors for  2010.

ASDA CARD

We are launching a shopping card for Asda which will see a discount to you of 2.5% - so £100 of shopping credit on your card will cost you £97.50. This will be coming soon, watch the office and web site for information.  

PAYROLL

Apologies to those who work for Birmingham Council as we had difficulty with payroll posting at the end of November, which saw a delay in the payroll being posted. We do assure you that this was due to the information provided to us, and we are working to ensure that we improve this.

CHILD TRUST FUND

We have launched the Child Trust Fund - This a long term savings plan to hold your child's Inland Revenue contributions and that you can add to from payroll, benefits or ad hoc savings ongoing. This is a cash based savings plan, and interest is paid annually each year on 1 April. INSTANT CHEQUES

We now issue cheques instantly from a telephone request or counter requests. We are aware that delays in issuing cheques has been a frustration to many members, and we are pleased to improve this service. Cheques to be cashed at Coop bank continue to cost £1.50 (they charge us for this service). You can instruct a withdrawal by emailing us on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. BACS ONLINE

Transfer to your main bank account can now be done on line through the secure web site. Transfers takes 48 working hours and is free of charge

BALANCE TEXTING SERVICE

We have had lots of requests to send balances direct to your mobile. We have signed up do this, and balances are sent automatically whenever you choose, either once a week or once a month. We have been able to negotiate a low cost for this, of £2 per year (for a monthly text) or £5 a year (for weekly texts).

FURNITURE LOAN & HANDILOAN

Furniture Loan and Handiloan have been launched - both are introductory loans for which you don't have to have savings with us before applying. This is in response to the growing number of doorstep lenders and weekly payment stores operating in our city. Both of our loans are available with a maximum first loan of £500.

Loan sharks are also operating on our streets and we often have reports of incidents involving practices which are not legal. Tell us if you are being affected.
