  • Birmingham Settlement
    Birmingham Settlement aims to improve the quality of life for people who are affected by poverty, unemployment and social isolation.
    Community Money Advice Centre (CMAC) offers free, confidential and independent advice to anyone who lives within Birmingham City boundaries. Backed by a Matrix Mark and members of the Institute of Money Advisers, specialist help is offered in both debt and welfare benefits.   • Free Advice on debt problems
    If you are encountered with debt problems, there are several organizations you can turn to, such as Citizens Advice Bureau, National Debtline and Consumer Credit Counselling Service.   • City Council's Trading Standards Money Advice Service
    The City Council's Trading Standards money advice service may be able to help you if you are in debt or are having problems paying your bills and you live in Birmingham.

           The service offered:

         · Looking carefully at your situation and drawing up a financial statement.
         · Calculating the repayments that you can afford and in some circumstances, negotiating with the companies you owe              money to, for you.
         · Helping to complete court forms and attend court hearings with you where your creditors have taken matters to  court.

  • Paying your Council Tax
    If you are having problems paying your Council Tax, Birmingham Council Tax Office is always willing to listen, and after considering your financial circumstances, will try to come to a mutually acceptable payment arrangement.

Severn Trent Trust Fund is an independent grant making trust first set up in 1997. 

A registered charity; the Trust is helping people out of poverty and debt - thanks to generous donations by the UK Midlands based water company, Severn Trent Water Limited. 

People unable to meet the cost of water charges and who live in the Severn Trent Area can apply for help.
